To use PRC you need to live inside the PRC delivery area (PRCDA). For the Onondaga, IHS lists that area as Onondaga County, New York.

That includes the territory south of Syracuse and nearby places such as Nedrow, LaFayette, Syracuse, and Manlius.

If you live outside Onondaga County, call the Manlius office and ask what applies to you.

How Do I Get Started?

These steps go in order. PRC needs to approve treatment before it begins.

  2. Call usReach admissions at (928) 531-1930 any time. We prepare the clinical paperwork and stay in touch with the PRC office until there is a decision. Referring staff can ask for Jeri.
  3. Travel to PrescottAfter approval, we choose a start date with you and help you plan the trip from Central New York. Your first day is for settling in, meeting the team, and making a plan with your counselor. See what day one is like.

If you have an emergency, get care first. Then call the PRC office within 72 hours, or within 30 days if you are 65 or older or have a disability. PRC usually does not pay for care it was not told about.

Some people need distance from the places tied to their drinking or using before they can rest and heal. Away from Onondaga County, the daily triggers, the familiar faces, and the stress of home are far off, and your energy can go into recovery. Many also want a program where Native people lead and culture is woven through the day.

Thundermaker is Native owned and operated, and Native staff who have walked this road run our program. Licensed counseling works together with ceremony, sweat lodge, drum, gardening, and traditional arts in our Cultural and Traditional Program. You may join the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), or individual and family counseling.

Before you return to Onondaga County, we help arrange follow up care close to home.

Every person who reaches out is welcomed as a relative.
